Posh Paddocks were delighted to attend the official opening of the Penrice Academy’s Outdoor Learning Environment on 1 March. Posh Paddocks were involved in the creation and development of ‘Penrice Farm’, creating a range of paddocks and enclosures for sheep, goats, chickens and ducks, as well as the foundations and drainage for a new barn.

Working with Penrice’s estate’s team, Posh Paddocks helped create a learning environment which enables students to develop their skills and abilities beyond the classroom.  The project involved transforming a large overgrown area on the campus into a duck pond and wild fowl enclosure from. Further works where undertaken to create a series of small paddocks for the Farm’s rare breed sheep and goats, including erecting stock proof fences and gates.

In creating this Outdoor Learning Environment, Penrice Academy have provided a superb facility for students taking the BTEC Level 2 course in Animal Care. Penrice Farm is also open to other students who want to get involved in outdoor activities and the care and husbandry of a range of animals.
