Specialist Machinery

The specialist tractor which we use is made in Switzerland where the land is often very steep and fields quite small. It is ideally suited for the types of terrain often found where grassland needs to be maintained, but where a conventional tractor would be unstable. The machine has the added advantage of having wide low ground pressure tyres which often enable operations to be carried out with no disturbance to the ground cover.

The tractor is used to carry various implements required for the task at hand. The flail mower has the capacity to cut grass either on a regular basis or once a year at the end of the flowering and bird nesting season. The mulching effect of the flail means very little vegetation is left behind, which would inhibit the growth of the grass below. A drum mower is used where the grass needs to be cut and collected. The flail verge mower and hedge trimmer are used where ditches and hedges need to be maintained.
